YOGA CLASSES

GROUP CLASSES

I offer group classes where we practice yoga together as yoga practitioners who share a keen interest in this mind-body-spirit approach to life . I facilitate these sessions with enthusiasm, love and compassion, everybody and every - body is welcome.

Evening sessions are held every Tuesday 6:00 - 7:00pm at the Victoria Institute in Arundel (BN19 9DG).

If you have been busy working, a yoga practice at the end of the day can be very relaxing and a good way to unwind accumulated tensions in the body and mind. Through a flow of yoga poses we nurture the body and balance our mind with a peaceful rhythm, followed by a mindful rest to keep us grounded and connected.

To book your space please go to the Book Online page or download the Spaces app to your phone where you can also easily book your classes

Come prepared for your yoga classes

  • Bring your YOGA MAT.

  • In addition, you might prefer to bring your own yoga blocks, yoga bricks, a belt and a cushion for sitting down comfortably but I can provide yoga blocks, bricks and belts if required.

  • A blanket is also useful. When you lie down and stay still for a while your body cools down very quickly and it is very important that you feel warm and comfortable so you can relax and enjoy!

  • Wear comfortable clothes that allow you to move freely. Yoga is practised with bare feet but if you normally have cold feet bring some socks to put on during relaxation at the end of class.

  • You can also bring an eye pillow for the relaxation at the end of the class. Stimulating the vagus nerve, the light pressure on your eyes triggers a reflex that lowers your heart rate and regulates your mood.

  • Avoid eating a heavy meal before your class. A full stomach interferes with your practice as it restricts the space in the abdominal area.

  • Feel free to bring water to the class but try and drink it only after the class – it will help to eliminate toxins from your body after the practice.

  • Allow more time than usual to get to class. You will need a few minutes before it starts to ensure you enter the space so that you can settle in calmly and align your attitude with the purpose of the class. 

  • Don’t push it. Instead of trying to go as deeply or completely into a pose as others might be able to do, do what you can without straining or injuring yourself. Work from where you are, not from where you think you should be.

Be kind to yourself
